Beach Drive Residence - Renovation

From bulldozer bait to Uplands Estate! This circa 1950’s home was tired and dull, but well built and had good bones. The exterior was suffocating with overgrown landscape that was removed to expose the existing stone work and allow the sun light to penetrate the new “eye brow” windows and breathe new life into the streetscape. Wide window trim, cedar shingle cladding and the “X” pattern motif gives the home a whole new timeless look. Inside, the new walnut floors contrast the warm white painted cabinets and built-ins. Opening up the wall between the kitchen and the stairs down to the over height family room below redefines the connection. Heated limestone tile floor, solid limestone countertops, soaker tub and large seamless glass enclosed shower inspire the “spa” like master bath. Wide moldings, baseboards and casings along with the repeat of the “X” pattern motif between the dining room and the hall help to generate the high style of this total renovation.
